High-Efficiency Energy Recovery for Automotive Paint Booths
DRI Paint Shop Heat Recovery Wheels are engineered to meet the demanding ventilation and environmental control requirements of automotive and industrial paint shops. Paint booths require very large volumes of conditioned air to maintain precise temperature and humidity levels, making them highly energy-intensive. DRI’s heat recovery wheels capture valuable waste heat from the exhaust air stream and reuse it to condition incoming fresh air—dramatically reducing energy consumption.
Proven Performance in Automotive Paint Shops Worldwide
Paint Shop Heat Recovery Wheels from DRI have been successfully deployed in automobile manufacturing plants across the globe for decades. Their high thermal efficiency delivers substantial energy savings, faster return on investment, and a meaningful reduction in CO₂ emissions, supporting both operational and sustainability goals.
Designed for Harsh Paint Shop Environments
Paint shop exhaust air typically contains high concentrations of paint overspray and particulates, which can clog conventional heat recovery media. DRI Paint Shop Heat Recovery Wheels are equipped with a robust online rotor cleaning system that continuously removes paint deposits at predefined intervals, even while the system is in operation.
This advanced cleaning capability ensures:
Consistent heat recovery performance
Reduced maintenance downtime
Long service life in rough operating conditions
How Paint Shop Heat Recovery Wheels Work
The heat recovery wheel rotates between the exhaust air stream and the incoming supply air stream. As the wheel passes through the warm exhaust air, it absorbs heat (and optionally moisture). When it rotates into the fresh air stream, this stored energy is transferred, pre-conditioning the incoming air before it reaches the paint booth.
This process significantly lowers heating and cooling loads while maintaining the strict environmental conditions required for high-quality paint finishes.
